Project overview
The Mavo Group is a video production house based in Miami that works on two fronts: music artists and brands. We redesigned and developed its entire website, in English and for a US audience: fourteen pages linked from the navigation, video in almost every section and a sub-brand —Creators by Mavo— that lives on the same domain with its own identity.
The challenge
A production company’s website has a problem other sites do not: the client’s product is video, and video is exactly what weighs the most on a page.
Everything had to move, and still load. Home page, services, process and sub-brand all rest on moving footage. Each one is a file that has to be trimmed, compressed and served from the site’s own domain, without relying on an external player that would also set third-party cookies.
Two audiences that do not buy the same way. An artist looks for a music video and cover art; a brand looks for a commercial and content. Putting both on the same services page would have left each of them half-served.
And a third business line with its own brand. Creators by Mavo has a different product, logo, email and social accounts. It could have been a separate site —expensive to maintain— or just another section, which would have diluted it.
Goals
That the site felt like a MAVO piece and not like a template in its colors. That an artist and a brand each found their own path without reading the other’s page. That Creators by Mavo had room of its own without duplicating operations. And that the client could change the reel on their own, without calling us every time they release a new piece.
The solution, section by section

The work before the pitch
A production company gets hired for what it has already shot. The home page opens with the reel, not a paragraph: six pieces in a carousel, each with its title and the artist or brand behind it, and the vertical content grid below. Visitors see work within the first few seconds.

Three steps, not an org chart
Ideate, produce, launch. The house’s process is told in three vertical cards, in the proportions of a phone, on the brand’s red background. The shape is not a whim: almost everything MAVO produces ends up vertical.

Two audiences, two entry points
MAVO sells to artists and to brands, and they do not buy the same way. The “For music” section lists the five services for artists —music video, content, short form, cover photography and postproduction— each with its own page.

The same structure for brands
“For brands” repeats the pattern with commercials, branded content, short form, photography and postproduction. Nine service pages in total, each with its own material, so every search lands where it should and not on a generic list.

Creators by Mavo: a brand within the brand
The phone-shot content line did not fit as just another section: it has a different product, a different price and a different audience. It lives inside the same site with its own identity —red gradient, vertical cards, a green accent— and an “I’m a…” selector that changes the message depending on whether you are an artist, a brand or a creator.

With its own logo, email and social accounts
The sub-brand carries all the way to the footer: a “Creators by Mavo” logo, its own email and the two networks where its audience really is, Instagram and TikTok. It sits alongside the parent brand without being confused with it, and without duplicating the site.

A form that sorts requests for you
Connect does not ask “how can we help you?”. It asks who you are and what kind of project you bring, with the seven options MAVO produces. The request reaches the inbox already sorted, and the first consultation is offered free of charge right in the header.

Thinking: who they are, not how many years they have been around
The about page does not list founders in suit-and-tie headshots. It tells how MAVO was started by two Latinos in Miami and opens a space openly devoted to experimenting —documentary, short film, illustration, generated imagery—. It is the part of the site that explains why people hire them, not just what they do.

The footer, and a clarification

We built the website, and the footer credits us for it. The audiovisual pieces shown in the screenshots are not ours: they are productions by MAVO for its own clients —UNSIN, MVSTERMIND, Stringz EMB, Amini’s, Julio Reyes Copello— and they appear here because they are part of the site we built. Neither the production nor the results of those pieces are an achievement of MTechnology.

The nine service pages, one by one
Each service has its own page, with its own background video and its own selection of work. These are eight of them; the ninth, “Short form / Reels” for brands, repeats the structure of the music one.
